Kristian Ruby

Kristian Ruby took over as Secretary General of Eurelectric, effective 1 January 2017. Prior to his appointment, he worked at WindEurope as part of the Executive Management team where, in his capacity as Chief Policy Officer, he was in charge of developing and implementing the political strategy of the association. Mr Ruby previously also held positions as assistant to the former European Commissioner for Climate Action, Connie Hedegaard and served, for a number of years, as a public servant in the Danish Ministries of Climate and Energy as well as Environment.

Anna Borg

Anna Borg

Anna Borg is the President and CEO of Vattenfall AB since November 2020. Between 2015-2017 she headed fin tech player Klarna’s online buying and payment solutions business in the Nordics. She returned to Vattenfall in April 2017, first to the role as Senior Vice President of Business Area Markets, followed by the role of the Group’s CFO and most recently to the role of CEO.
Before Klarna Anna spent 18 years in Vattenfall and held numerous management positions in B2C and B2B marketing and sales, trading and business development across Europe. Anna has a strong interest in company transformation journeys and sustainability. She is a member of the Board of FAM AB. She holds a Master of Economics and Political Science from the University of Uppsala, Sweden.

Georgios Stassis

Georgios Stassis has more than 14 years of experience in the energy market. He held important positions in various organizations and entities in the energy sector in Greece and Southeastern Europe, and throughout the entire electricity value chain (generation, distribution, supply). He had worked for several years in the Italian energy Group ENEL SpA, as President & CEO of Enel Romania SrL., the largest vertically integrated energy company in Romania, and previously as Head of Green Power for Eastern Europe and Middle East. Mr.Stassis holds a degree in Civil Engineering and a Master’s degree in “Management in Construction and Structural Design” from the University of Kingston, UK. In addition, he has attended Executive Courses at Harvard Business School (USA) and Elis Academy (Italy).

Miguel Stilwell d’Andrade

Miguel Stilwell d’Andrade

He was born on 6th August 1976. Graduated with an M.Eng with Distinction in Mechanical Engineering in the University of Strathclyde (Glasgow, Scotland) and an MBA by MIT Sloan (Boston, USA). He initiated his career at UBS Investment Bank in London, UK, where he worked primarily in Mergers and Acquisitions in various projects in European countries, including Portugal, as well as in Japan, Thailand and Brazil. Miguel lived between 1994 and 2003 in Scotland, Italy, England, Portugal and the USA. In 2000, he joined EDP in the area of Strategy and Corporate Development / M&A and was the Director of this area between 2005 and 2009. During this period Miguel coordinated and managed various M&A and capital market transactions for EDP, including the acquisition of several companies that gave rise to EDP Renewables, the acquisition of Hidrocantabrico, the different phases of EDP’s privatization, EDP’s share capital increase in 2004, EDP Energias do Brazil IPO in 2005 and EDP Renewables IPO in 2008. He was a member of the Board of EDP Distribuição Energia from January 2009 to February 2012. Miguel was also a non-executive Member of the Board of Directors of EDP Inovação, EDP Ventures, EDP Gas Distribution and Chairman of InovGrid ACE. On 2012 he was appointed Chairman of EDP Comercial as well as Counselor-Delegate and Vice-Presidente of Hidroeléctrica del Cantabrico and Naturgas Energia. On 2014 he was appointed as Chairman of EDP Soluções Comerciais. He is currently a Director of FAE – Fórum de Administradores de Empresas. He was appointed as a member of the Executive Board of EDP on the 20th February of 2012 and reappointment on 21st April 2015.

Paddy Hayes

Paddy Hayes

Paddy Hayes was appointed Chief Executive in August 2021. Prior to this, he headed up two of ESB’s main operating divisions as Executive Director of ESB’s Generation & Wholesale Markets business and then as Managing Director of ESB Networks. A Chartered Engineer, he holds a master’s degree in engineering from University College Dublin and an MBA from the University of Warwick. Paddy worked with British Steel in the UK before moving to the energy sector in 1999, to lead the Synergen joint venture between ESB and Statoil.

Hando Sutter

Hando Sutter

Hando Sutter has served as the CEO of Enefit since December 2014. Enefit is a company, which operates in the Baltic Sea electricity and gas markets and in the international fuel market. Prior to this, Hando Sutter was the regional manager of Nord Pool Spot power exchange in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Russia. In addition, he has previously worked in the management teams of regional companies, such as US Invest, Olympic Entertainment Group, Tolaram Investments, ESS Group (renamed to G4S Estonia) and Eesti Talleks.
Mr Hando Sutter is a member of Eurelectric Board of Directors since March 2015. He also serves as a member of the Council of Estonian Employers' Confederation and is heading the education working group there. In addition, Mr Sutter is a member of the Council of Estonian Health Trails Foundation.
Hando Sutter has graduated Tallinn University of Technology as mechanical engineer, and also completed MBA course in Estonian Business School.

Alistair Phillips-Davies

Alistair has been with SSE since 1997 and possesses a detailed knowledge of each business area having held a variety of senior roles within the Company. Prior to joining the Board in 2002 as Energy Supply Director, Alistair was Director of Corporate Finance and Business Development. In 2010, he became Generation and Supply Director, before Deputy Chief Executive in 2012, then Chief Executive in 2013.
Alistair’s career progression has supported the development of sound leadership skills and a considered and strategic approach to business deliberations. He has a detailed understanding of the energy markets in Great Britain and Ireland, including the trends and factors which can have a material impact on the operating context, such as the political and regulatory environment. He also holds a broad knowledge of markets across Europe as former Vice President of Eurelectric.
Through regular and proactive engagement, he understands stakeholder views and concerns, and continues to provide focus to people development and efficient operations in order to develop SSE’s capabilities for future growth.

Armando Martinez has a degree in industrial engineering from the Universidad de Valladolid and a diploma in company management from the IPADE Business School. He has spent most of his career in Iberdrola, where he has held positions in the Engineering and Generation divisions, and was general director for the company in Mexico between 2010 and 2014. From 2014 to 2016 he held the position of Director of the Liberalized Business of the Iberdrola group and thereafter until 2021 he held the position of Director of the Networks Business of the Iberdrola group. Currently, he is chairman of Iberdrola España S.A.U.
